A Catskills hamlet organizes to reclaim its historic charm.

We are a group of Pine Hill community members whose mission is to celebrate the history of our village by restoring an 1880s hotel into an inviting community retail and lodging space for both residents and visitors.

The Building

In the heart of historic Pine Hill, a once-bustling tourist destination in New York's Catskill Park, sits a former community staple. The Wellington Hotel has fallen into disrepair, keeping nearly 11,000 sq feet of beautiful woodwork in one of the Western Catskill's only downtown areas from its full potential. It is our mission to restore this historic cornerstone property to use, with a sustainable, community-first development project that includes both lodging and retail.

our vision

On the ground floor, a warm café, modern general store and grocery market will provide local options for fresh and healthy food, finally serving the breakfast and lunch crowds and providing walking distance groceries for Pine Hill residents. We hope this space will serve as a community living room and will invite visitors, hikers, and skiiers alike to cozy up by the fire and enjoy a warm drink side by side with the locals.

The second and third floors will feature seasonal boarding-style housing, to bring much needed affordable lodging for our neighbors and the community. Additionally, a few apartment-style rental units in the building will be available for larger groups and families, as well as a shared kitchen space for those staying for more than a quick visit. The updated boarding house will to support our community-focused spaces that brings guests and locals together in a tradition that distills the very essence of our region.

We are a community lead project.
